Veterinary Care Elite

Veterinary Care Elite was an AAVSB program that was sunset on December 31, 2023. It was the gold standard program for veterinary technicians showing their commitment to performing at the highest level. This was a membership that was renewed annually. As of 12/31/23, we cannot verify that past members continue to meet the program requirements and earning criteria listed.

Earning Criteria

Required

degree
Graduated from an AVMA-CVTEA or CVMA accredited program in veterinary technology/nursing
exam
Passed the VTNE
license
Maintain at least one current credential from an AAVSB Member Board regulating veterinary technicians for more than 1 year
license
Maintain credentials in good standing
knowledge
Complete 17 continuing education credits (12 medical, 5 non-medical, with 2 of the 5 being in controlled substances, record keeping, DEI, veterinary wellness, or communication skills) annually as required by the Veterinary Care Elite program
